Theme words fill the board entirely: every letter is used exactly once, and words can bend in any direction, including diagonally.

One theme word is the spangram. It describes the theme and touches two opposite sides of the board.

Every three other real words of four or more letters you find earn a hint, which highlights the letters of one theme word for you to connect.

Tips

Read the theme clue as a riddle. The spangram is often a phrase or compound word that names the category directly.

Long words that snake across the whole board are usually the spangram. Try tracing from one edge to the opposite one.

There is no penalty for wrong guesses, so trace freely: non-theme words still count toward your next hint.
